Find out how you can help the Humane Society of Flower Mound! This one-hour orientation that starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. gives you an overview of our history, accomplishments, and the various activities you can get involved in. We have volunteer opportunities both hands-on with animals and need assistance with our general operations. Come learn more about how you can make a difference! Minimum age requirements while working with animals are as follows:
- TLC shifts (care of animals who are not yet in foster homes): 12-16 yrs old with a parent; 16--17 yrs old with an adult; 18 yrs old without a parent
- Luv A Pet shifts (care for cats living at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- Adopt A Purr shifts (cat adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
- Adopt a Pet shifts (dog adoption events held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at PetSmart): 16 yrs old with a parent; 17 yrs old without a parent
If you are underage, you and your parent or guardian must attend a Volunteer Orientation meeting and sign an indemnity release before you can begin volunteer with the animals.
We also have a junior volunteer program where children of all ages can volunteer for various fundraisers, etc.
You do not need to call to reserve a spot or confirm your attendance. Just show up! Please be sure to NOTE the address because it is not the same as our mailing address that is listed on this website.
