Kele is a 1.5 year old, 40 lb Labrador Retriever mix. As you can see from Kele's photo, she is still decked out in her holiday sweater, looking for her forever home. Kele came from a very neglectful past life. When she first came to Humane Tomorrow, she had no hair due to a severe skin condition. She also had no trust of people due to the neglect she had endured. Humane Tomorrow volunteers and her foster parents have given her tons of TLC, and most of her hair has grown back, but it may never grow back completely. She is still a lovely dog and feels and looks 110% better! Kele has also come a long way with her interaction with people. She is a little shy at first, but will warm up once she knows you aren't going to hurt her. She is a little slower warming up to men. She is still a very young dog, and she is making up for the time she didn't get to be a regular puppy. She loves toys, especially the stuffed ones. She also loves treats, and her favorite is a Kong stuffed with goodies. She is crate trained but needs a very sturdy crate. She is completely housebroken. She gets along with other dogs, but her play style can be a little rough, and she may annoy older, more laid back dogs. She doesn't live with kids, but due to her enthusiasm, we are recommending no kids under the age of 6. Kele needs adopters who will provide her with attention and exercise, but also provide a quiet environment. Kele won't be the type to take to the dog park or lots of social activities as she is more of a home-body. Kele will be a loyal and loving companion to her people.
